What to Do If MJX Hyper Go 16218 Wheels Are Loose?
Loose wheels are a common concern for many RC hobbyists. Do you know why the wheels of the MJX Hyper Go 16218 become loose? What should you do if they wobble during running or even fall off easily?
There are two main types of loose-wheel issues:
- If the wheel shifts side to side and the nut keeps coming loose on its own, this is usually caused by problems with the wheel nut or hex hub.
- If the tire slips on the rim — the rim spins but the tire does not turn — the tire foam/skin has come unglued from the rim.
First, check the wheel lock nut. Tighten it moderately. Do not over-tighten, or you may strip the threads or damage the bearings. If it loosens quickly after runs, apply a small amount of blue thread locker to stop vibration-induced loosening.
Second, inspect the hex hub. If the hex edges are worn and rounded, the wheel will not lock securely even with a tight nut. You will need to replace the worn hex hub.
Next, check the wheel bearings. Worn bearings create side play and make the wheel wobble. Replace the bearings if they have gaps or spin roughly.
Finally, check whether the tire has separated from the rim. The wheel may feel tight, but the tire spins freely under power. Use dedicated RC tire glue for reattachment. Avoid super glue (CA hard glue). Hard glue tends to crack again after vibration and makes future tire removal very difficult.
After all checks, test the car on flat ground. Get into the habit of checking wheel nuts before off-road runs or jumps, to prevent lost wheels and further damage.
