Can the front steering knuckle of MJX 10304 match extended CVD?
Extended CVDs are commonly used by RC hobbyists to widen the track width, improve stability, and prevent CVD pop-out and dog bone binding at large steering angles. The front steering knuckle of the MJX Hyper Go 10304 is compatible with extended CVD drive shafts, but it is not a direct bolt-on fit without modifications.
Binding and rubbing are likely to happen at large steering angles, and thin wheel spacers are usually needed to compensate for the extra length. Note that an overly long CVD will reduce steering throw and accelerate wear on the steering knuckle and universal joint during aggressive bashing.
Extended CVDs are not recommended in two scenarios:
- If you want to keep the stock setup, do not plan to modify tie rods or re-tune the car: skip extended CVDs, as they only bring extra hassle.
- If you frequently jump and land hard: the wider track increases leverage on the steering knuckle, C-hub and lower arm ball studs, making aluminum knuckles easier to bend and threads more prone to stripping.
In short, if you want extended CVDs, always pick versions specifically designed for the 10304 instead of generic ones!
