How to Fix Repeatedly Loose Bottom Screws on MJX 10304 Steering Hub?

Do the bottom screws of your MJX Hyper Go 10304 steering hub keep coming loose after bashing? This is mainly caused by vibration from jumps and impacts. Don’t panic when this happens; here are several solutions for you.

  1. Clean the threads with isopropyl alcohol to wash away grease, blow dry them, then apply a small drop of blue medium-strength threadlocker. Do not use red high-strength permanent threadlocker so you can take it apart later easily. Tighten the screws and leave them for 20 minutes to get initial curing. Wait 24 hours for full curing before bashing. Never over-tighten the screws, or you will strip the threads and cause steering binding.
  2. If you don’t want to use threadlocker and often run on rough ground, you can install lock washers. Also, inspect it routinely before every off-road run to avoid sudden steering failure while driving.
  3. If the threads are slightly stripped, the aluminum threads of the screw hole are worn out, and threadlocker alone will not work. You need to distinguish two situations: if the wall is thick enough, you can repair it with a helicoil insert for higher strength after repair. If the wall is too thin, replace the steering hub directly. Repeated loosening and stripped threads may cause the steering hub to break suddenly during jumps.

In short, when the bottom screws of your MJX 10304 steering hub get loose, don’t rush to replace parts. First check and confirm the damage level to decide whether you only need a simple repair or a new steering hub.
